Welcome to Golf Score.

This is version 1.10 and will probably be the last basic version.

Golf scoring is very complicated. This version only deals with the very basic system of scoring. It uses your handicap and the hole index to calculate an allowance for you. This results in two main scores; the strokes you actually took and, using the allowance, the nett strokes. Who won a hole is based on the nett scores not the actual scores. This is used for the Stroke Play or, to give it a more correct title, Medal Play.

Match Play uses the same system without any further handicap calculations. Thus players are given the full handicap in all cases.

The future versions.

The rules for calculating the handicaps for the various types of play are complicated and vary from club to club. I hope to incorporate in the Match Play option 'Four Ball (Better Ball)' and 'Foursome' using a handicap calculation option of full handicap, 3/4 handicap, 1/2 handicap, 3/8 handicap and 1/4 handicap.

This will be version 2. When it becomes available it will be supplied to registered users only.
